This is the eighteenth
Blackhawk Carving Show the first was held
in 1995. In each show the quality of the carvings has increased. The show
will display carvings of animals, birds and human figures in both realistic
and stylized form. This is a once a year opportunity to see some of the very
good carvings and learn about the carving hobby from the carvers themselves.
The
Blackhawk Woodcarvers were formed to
promote the art of woodcarving and associated crafts through instruction,
exhibitions such as the August 18 th show, demonstrations and workshops.
There are 110 members in the Blackhawk club, most of these members are from
Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Iowa.
