Carving Levels
-
Youth
Anyone of school age and is limited
to two entries in each Youth category of 1) in the round, 2) reliefs, and 3)
canes and walking sticks.

Novice
A new carver that has limited
personal quality demands whereby the judges take this into consideration.
A
novice is typical of having minimal experience (preferred to have two years or less experience).
Limit of two carving entries in
each of Novice categories of 1) in the round, 2) reliefs, and 3) canes and
walking sticks.
After Receiving a "blue ribbon"
the novice carver drops out of the novice level and must advance to
either of the next two levels of his or her choice.

Intermediate
Has automatically advanced to this level based on the Novice's rules, or
that the carver feels that he or she is qualified to be in this category by
their experience.
Participate
in all categories with a maximum of two carving entries in a category.
May remain in the intermediate level as long as the carver does not feel qualified to move to the next advanced level. However he or she must advance to the next level when three accumulated blue ribbons have been awarded over any time.
Once entered in the intermediate level, can not return to the novice level.
- Advance
For serious and accomplished carvers, either amateur or professional, who
seek and perform to the highest carving quality.
No limit to number of entries.
Once awarded any ribbon in the advanced level cannot return to the intermediate level.
